Important Antlerless (Doe) License Changes

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

TREASURER’S OFFICE MONROE COUNTY

Important Antlerless (Doe) License Changes

Landowner License Sales Deadline

The 2021-2022 general hunting licenses are on sale throughout Pennsylvania reflecting the recent license price increases. The PGC increased the cost for a PA resident antlerless deer license to $6.97 and Non-resident antlerless deer license is $26.97.

The County Treasurer’s Office will begin accepting PA resident antlerless deer applications by mail only on Monday July 12, 2021. The Treasurer’s Office recommends mailing applications no earlier than Friday July 9. Per PGC rules, any resident applications received prior to Monday July 12 will be returned unprocessed. Any checks received for the wrong amount will be returned and will go unprocessed, jeopardizing the hunter’s choice of WMU. So please be sure to write the check for the correct amount and verify your math when paying for multiple licenses with a single check.

Another new PGC rule is that hunters may now apply for and obtain up to six antlerless deer licenses before the start of hunting seasons, for any WMU in which licenses remain available. Hunters statewide are limited to holding six unfilled antlerless deer licenses. However, since hunters statewide may hold up to six antlerless licenses at a time, and hunters may obtain no more than three antlerless deer licenses during the initial mail-in rounds. Each hunter will qualify for at least three additional licenses at the time over-the-counter sales begin, although licenses in many WMUs will be sold out by September 13. Hunters who obtain six antlerless deer licenses may apply for additional licenses, if available, as they harvest deer and report them. Hunters who report harvests online through HuntFish.PA.gov or call the Customer Support line at 1-800-838-4431 instantly become eligible to purchase another license, if any are available. Those reporting by mail will not be eligible to buy another license until their report is logged.

Lastly, landowner antlerless deer licenses must be issued prior to the start of the regular application period. The last day to purchase a landowner doe license is Friday, July 9. Landowner doe licenses are only available in the County Treasurer’s Office located on the first floor of the County Government Center. If you have any questions, please call the County Treasurer’s Office at 570-517-3180
